Victor Wembaneyama put together one of the most memorable performances of the season Saturday night in the final stages of his rookie year.of san antonio spurs broke new york knicks, Behind Wenbanyama’s amazing overall performance, they won 130-126 in overtime. The 7-foot-5 rookie had 40 points, 20 rebounds and seven assists, making 4 of 9 3-pointers and 10 of 12 free throws in the victory.
The Spurs ruined Knicks star Jalen Brunson’s career game. Brunson finished with 61 points and six assists in the loss on 25-of-47 shooting. New York’s loss on Brunson’s incredible scoring night continues the trend of teams losing when their star players score 60 or more points, including Stephen Curry and Karl-Anthony Towns. Something like this is happening.
After the Spurs defeated the Knicks, Wenbanyama celebrated by throwing the game ball to the home crowd. This won’t be a Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Pacers situation for the game ball. It was a costly move for Wenby, who was fined by NBA commissioner Adam Silver on Sunday. Watch Wenbanyama’s ball toss here:
Wenbanyama was fined $25,000 by the NBA for throwing a ball into the crowd.
A memo from the NBA regarding the fine is below.

Wenbanyama’s performance against the Knicks was shocking. The Spurs have been terrible this year, but they plan to add another top draft pick this summer. A veteran star may also be added next to Wenbanyama.
It’s only a matter of time before Wembaneyama becomes the best player in the league and Spurs compete for championships. Check out the highlights from his game against the Knicks here:
Wenby and Spurs are coming. This is just the beginning.
