At least 29 people lost their lives when a fire broke out at a Turkish nightclub under renovation at midday on Tuesday, the BBC reported.

Istanbul Governor Dabut Gül claimed the cause of the fire was unknown and the victims were believed to be connected to renovation work at the nightclub, the BBC reported. Arrest warrants have reportedly been sought for several people in connection with the police investigation into the matter, including the nightclub’s manager and renovation manager.
The renovation work was scheduled to last from March 10 to April 10, Masquerade said. Website.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan learned of the incident after receiving a phone call from Interior Minister Ali Erikaya, the BBC reported.
