Costco has launched a subscription-based weight loss program for members and non-members of the national wholesaler. This includes access to prescription weight loss medications.

The weight loss program also includes access to nationally available GLP-1 prescription weight loss medications, but on a patient-by-patient basis.

According to Seasame, patients can lose 5% of their body weight within three months, 10% in six months, and 15% in one year if they follow a personalized program.
The New York-based telemedicine company said its clinicians collect “a detailed medical history from each patient” and plan “appropriate diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications” for each subscriber.

While the focus may be on providing virtual care, the company also offers some in-person care.
This fall, Costco began offering customers primary care physician visits for just $29 per visit through Sesame.
But the companies decided to expand after realizing that the majority of customers using the program were asking questions about weight loss.
