Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio has joined former President Trump’s campaign as a senior adviser, Fabrizio confirmed to The Hill.
The move will allow the veteran pollster, who previously worked as a strategist for MAGA, an outside group that supports the former president, to communicate directly with the Trump campaign. Previously, they were unable to do so because of rules that prevented super PACs from directly coordinating with campaigns they supported.
Mr. Fabrizio’s transfer to the campaign side signals the expansion of the Trump campaign in the run-up to the November general election, where he is likely to face President Biden again.
He has been involved in the former president’s political activities for many years, and was a poll leader in both the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. Mr. Fabrizio also worked on the campaigns of other presidential candidates, including Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and the late Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kansas).
Mr. Fabrizio also advised potential Republican candidates for two years after President Trump left the White House.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) praised Fabrizio following the news.
“Tony Fabrizio is the best pollster in the business,” Blackburn said. on social media Tuesday’s post. “He will be an essential addition to the Trump campaign and will help the Republican Party win big this November. There is no one better than Tony.”
