CA sheriff’s deputy accused of living double life with notorious biker gang: Report

A Southern California sheriff’s deputy is reportedly leading a double life as a notorious motorcycle outlaw. Authorities found a large quantity of firearms at the man’s home, including a shotgun stolen from his department, the newspaper said. new york post.

Christopher Bingham, 45, was taken into custody on March 23rd when he was caught riding a motorcycle with two other members of a motorcycle gang. He is an 18-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department. When authorities arrested him, they found an unloaded, unregistered firearm.

Bingham was then taken to Smith Correctional Facility. However, he was later released.

The department had been tracking the former deputy since January 2024 after it was discovered that he had been interacting with biker gang members on motorcycles. Authorities immediately began an investigation into the deputy, according to the report.

As a result, agents from the Gang/Narcotics Division obtained a search warrant for Bingham’s home in Twentynine Palms, California, after his arrest.

San Bernardino Sun report Bingham was reportedly taken to jail wearing a T-shirt that read, “(Expletive) 81!” The number “81” is reportedly a nickname for the Mongolian gang’s longtime rivals, the Hells Angels, a gang Bingham is reportedly associated with.

The T-shirt reportedly had “SYLM” scrawled on it, which means “Support Your Local Mongolians.”

While Bingham was being held in jail, investigators searched Bingham’s home. Approximately 160 firearms were reportedly recovered, including a modified fully automatic assault rifle fitted with a grenade launcher. They also found a customized AR-15 assault rifle with a 12-inch barrel.

District Attorney Jason Anderson could not say whether Bingham is suspected of trafficking firearms for the Mongols. He also could not provide further information about Bingham’s ties to biker gangs.

Despite the lack of details, Anderson was able to say:[t]He undoubtedly has some Mongolian involvement. ”

San Bernardino Sheriff Shannon Dicus said in a statement: Not only will he tarnish his own badge, he will undermine the integrity and credibility of his entire department. ”

“Criminal conduct will not be tolerated and we have placed him on immediate mandatory leave. The investigation was forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office and charges were filed.”

Bingham faces multiple felony charges, but the investigation is still ongoing.
