Biden campaign accuses Trump of inviting ‘racists,’ ‘extremists’ to fundraiser

President Biden’s campaign has accused his Republican rival of courting unsavory groups for an upcoming fundraising dinner.

Former President Donald Trump’s Saturday night fundraising dinner was held at billionaire John Paulson’s home in Palm Beach, Florida, and included businessman Robert Bigelow, former World Wrestling Entertainment executive Linda McMahon, Co-chaired by real estate developer Steve Wynn and Red. Apple Group Chairman John Catsimatidis and former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler.

The guest list will include approximately 100 people, with suggested ticket prices ranging from $250,000 to $814,600.

Biden campaign senior spokeswoman Sarafina Titica made incendiary remarks about the event Friday, accusing President Trump of inviting “racists” and “extremists” to dinner.

“If you want to know who Donald Trump will fight for in a second term, just look at who he’s inviting to dinner on Saturday night. Tax fraudsters, fraudsters, racists. an extremist,” Chitika said in a statement to The Hill.

“Make no mistake about it, Donald Trump will not do what is best for the American people and will follow the orders of his billionaire friends,” she continued. “He will take away their checks, cut their taxes, leave hard-working Americans behind, move their jobs overseas, abolish Social Security and Medicare, strip away health care protections, and ban abortion.”

Trump’s campaign expects to raise more than $40 million at the Palm Beach fundraiser, hoping to inch closer to Biden in fundraising for the 2024 presidential race.

Biden’s reelection campaign announced Saturday that it had raised more than $187 million in the first quarter of 2024.

Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama appeared alongside President Joe Biden at a re-election campaign fundraiser in New York City.

The campaign generated more than $90 million in revenue in March, up from $53 million the previous month. His campaign announced it had $192 million in cash on hand, touting it as “the largest amount ever amassed.” Democratic Party candidate in history at this point in the cycle. ”

The campaign said 96% of donations in the first quarter were less than $200, with more than 1.1 million donors making more than 1.9 million donations.

The campaign says it currently has more than 212,000 recurring donors (more than double the number so far in the 2020 cycle) who have pledged more than $5.2 million each month.

A Trump campaign spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
