Two people were killed and seven others were injured in a gunfight between Doral police officers and armed patrons around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
CBS News report The incident reportedly began after one of the guests shot and killed the security guard when he approached to break up a “dispute in the drawing room.”
The security guard died from his injuries.
Doral Police Department officers responded and a gunfight ensued with the suspect, injuring one officer and six others.
The armed patron was killed in the gunfight.
WSVN It pointed out Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said the two Doral officers involved in the incident, including the injured officer, were working to provide security for the facility and were able to quickly respond to the incident.
Zabaleta said the officer suffered injuries to his “lower extremities.”
The other six injured consisted of one woman and six men.
