RNC chair Whatley sidesteps question on if 2020 election was stolen

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley is avoiding questions surrounding whether the 2020 election was stolen, instead focusing on ensuring election integrity this cycle. It seems so.

NewsNation’s “The Hill” anchor Chris Stilwald addressed last month’s report in an interview with Whatley. The RNC was seeking the possibility of rehiring. What if the 2020 election was stolen?

Asked if he could confirm these reports, Whatley said, “Look, the only litmus test I have is, ‘Do you support President Trump and the rest of the Republican candidates?'” . “Will you work 24/7 for the next seven months to make sure we win this election cycle?”

Mr. Stirewald then asked Mr. Whatley how he would respond if asked if the 2020 election was stolen.

“I think there was fraud. I think we saw challenges across the country. We need to preserve the integrity of our elections. This is about making sure we have the rules of the road in place in 2024,” Whatley said. Told. “So, for example, we don’t have drop boxes, we have voter ID, and absentee ballots, for example, require a witness signature, and we require a voter signature.”

Mr. Whatley claimed that these election measures are supported by the “vast majority” of Americans.

Mr. Stirewald then pressed again, asking whether the votes in the 2020 election were “accurately counted” or “rigged,” and Mr. Whatley pointed to the vote for former President Trump.

“See, I was a member of the Electoral College. I proudly voted for Donald Trump, my electoral number is back,” he replied. “Joe Biden is president, and we are working now, all day, every day, to make sure we win the 2024 election.”

Whatley has made election integrity a major focus of his newly elected position. In a recent interview with radio talk show host John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM’s “Cats Roundtable,” the committee said that during early voting in November, Cats Roundtable “I will be at the venue,” he said.

Whatley, backed by President Trump, was selected by the committee last month as part of a sweeping overhaul by the former president and his allies. Lara Trump, the former president’s daughter-in-law, was also selected to co-chair the committee at the time.
