The odds have been against Bayley for several weeks. Ever since she became the No. 1 contender for the WWE Women’s Championship, her former stablemates at Damage CTRL have supported her.
In a one-on-one match against Iyo Sky, Bayley was able to exorcise some of the demons that were plaguing her. She was able to fight through her knee tweak and defeat Sky at WrestleMania 40 to win the championship.

This is the third time she has won the SmackDown title and the fourth time in her career that she has won the Women’s Championship.
To get to this point, Bayley needed to win the Royal Rumble match to earn a chance at the women’s title. After her damage control partner attacked her, she targeted Iyo Sky and her WWE Women’s Championship. The title was won by Sky in a Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam.
Bayley began attacking Skye. She kicked the champion out to ringside and ducked under the ropes to attack Sky. She seemed to hurt her knee during her dive and Skye caught it.
Sky avoids a dropkick near the ring post and starts working on Bayley’s legs.

The match was moved outside. Skye tried to climb over the barrier, but Bayley caught her and slammed her to the ground. Bayley continued his attack upon returning inside the ring. Side slam and pin for a near fall, but Sky kicks out.
Skye returned for a heavy aerial attack outside the ring. She moonsaulted Bayley from the top rope. She then hit a top rope missile dropkick.
The two competitors were nearly evenly matched throughout the match. They knew what each other could bring. They were scouting each other and each had to dig deep.
Skye tries another moonsault but misses. Bayley countered by getting him on his knees. With fans in Philadelphia, Bayley tried to hit Sky with an elbow drop, but Sky caught her with a crossface. But Bayley dug deep and injured his knee and more.

The pace of the match became faster. Bayley hits a back suplex on Sky and hits a big elbow drop. Bayley then hit the Rose Plant.
