The wife of a Texas judge was arrested last week on suspicion of fatally shooting her nephew during an argument inside the couple’s home, authorities and media reports said.
Mae Van Wolf was taken into custody Thursday night after her husband, Harris County Justice of the Peace Bob Wolf, called 911. KABB reported.
The fight may have started because the alleged gunman no longer wanted his nephew-in-law. Identified as 40-year-old James Wolfe II.The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says they are living in the home as part of an ongoing feud between relatives.
“The disturbance may have been caused by the female homeowner feeling that she was no longer welcome,” said Police Chief Ed Gonzalez. Per KHOU.
“She pulled out a pistol, but something happened during the argument and she fired, hitting her nephew.”
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to law enforcement.
