Caitlin Clark said her final goodbye.
The legendary women’s basketball player’s stellar college career came to an end Sunday after a crushing loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the national championship game.
Clark’s accomplishments will forever be remembered, especially in the scoring department, where she currently holds the all-time scoring record. Moreover, she has handled everything with her dignity and humility, something you don’t see too often anymore in 2024. Now, hours after Sunday night’s loss, Clark reached out to Iowa State fans on social media, once again showing her character in a final farewell to the university and its community.
“Words cannot express my love for my teammates, coaches, fans, and university. Thank you for making my dream come true. It has been an honor to wear Iowa on my heart for the past four years. Here I am. is always home,” Clark posted on X.
As of Monday morning, the post had been viewed more than 2 million times, demonstrating Clark’s immense popularity.

It’s crazy to think how much interest we got in women’s basketball because of Caitlin Clark.
When I first started here at the Daily Caller, I was making fun of this sport, and now I’ve written about it three times in a row…it’s just incredible.
Caitlin Clark effect.
