On April 8, as the total solar eclipse approached 100%, a couple in Central Texas exchanged vows in the fading afternoon light of America’s Great Solar Eclipse.
“It was powerful,” groom Kelby Noack of Waco, Texas, told FOX News Digital. “That was amazing.”
When Noack, 35, a pharmaceutical sales representative, and Gisele Wendt, 33, a music teacher, got engaged three months ago, they felt the stars had aligned in their favor.

“I love the author Paolo Coello and the phrase ‘I love you because the whole universe conspired to help me find you’ resonated with me every time I read it,” Vento said. said.

“I always knew God had the right person for me, and here he is.”
While considering potential wedding dates, Vento, an elementary school music teacher, had a cosmic idea. Instead, he thought, the moon and sun would align.
“I remember being with my kindergarten class and singing a song about the solar eclipse,” she said. “I thought, ‘You know what? That would be cool.'”

Plans were set in motion for an intimate backyard wedding that would provide a natural and sacred backdrop to the ceremony.

On the path to a 100% total solar eclipse, Waco, Texas quickly became a hotspot for solar eclipse viewing.
But clouds and thunderstorms were creeping in the forecast in the days and weeks leading up to the big event, which had some eclipse watchers concerned.
As of Monday morning, it was cloudy with a 74% chance of rain.

“A lot of people said, ‘It’s too bad it’s raining on our wedding,'” Vento said.

“But we decided to let go of control and just let it happen. That’s what Kelby taught me: to allow life to come as it comes and be grateful for it. is.”
When they woke up Monday morning, the sky was gray.
“It was pretty cloudy just waiting for the wedding to start,” Noack said. “I saw it. [the eclipse] And then I couldn’t see it anymore. ”

In his grandparents’ backyard overlooking Lake Waco, Noack walked to the altar while listening to Claude Debussy’s “La Lune.”

“I thought it would be great to incorporate the sun and moon,” Vento said.
At 1:38pm CST, it was time for a total solar eclipse. Then suddenly we saw a total solar eclipse with the corona on full display.
“It was perfect,” Noack said. “I can’t believe the clouds opened up like that.”

Noack and Vento had sworn their vows just before that moment. During the 4 minutes and 12 seconds of totality, the couple said the sky darkened, the birds became quieter and the air felt cooler.

“It was beyond comprehension,” Vento said. “It’s just magical. We’ve all experienced weddings and then we’ve had COVID, which is magical.”
This unusual event turned out to be everything and more than the bride had imagined, she said.

“In 40 days, we expressed what we wanted in the universe,” Wendt said.

“And people came together. Our family, everyone and everything pitched in to help us do this. And when we went out and saw everything, “I thought this was beyond my prayers. This was beyond what we expected,” she added.
