Dozens of bags containing anti-Semitic fliers and what appeared to be “rat poison” were found scattered around Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood on Monday morning.
43rd Ward Alderman Timmy Knudsen said his office received a tip that the fliers were being distributed in the heart of Lincoln Park near Geneva Terrace and Belden.
Knudsen said the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was notified as well as police because part of the flyer contained the logo.
“This is not the first time something like this has happened in our district. I have a clear message to those who are distributing these leaflets: You are committing an act of hate,” Knudsen said. said. “My office and the Chicago Police Department will hold you accountable. Your threats against the Jewish community are disgusting, despicable, and will not be tolerated in our community.”
