It’s still early, but there are already candidates for Parlay of the Year in 2024.
A New Hampshire bettor placed a $100 bet at DraftKings Sportsbook on Feb. 16 to win $231,678.13 on a four-leg mixed sports parlay.
In the parlay, UFC fighter Ilya Topria (+105) defeated Alexander Volkanovskiy, UW won the men’s national championship (+650), South Carolina won the women’s tournament (+125), and the longest Hideki Matsuyama won the Genesis Invitational with a long shot. (66/1).
The total odds were an impressive +231678 (or approximately 2,316/1), giving an implied probability of winning of 0.04%.
Jeffrey Benson, Director of Operations at Circa Sportsbook, mentioned on X that the Purdue Boilermakers were hedged before Monday’s loss to the Huskies.
“A total of $20,000 in straight bets/parlays on Purdue,” he said.
Benson said that before the Final Four weekend, the cash-out option for wagers was just under six figures.
The bet became very active after Topuria’s KO of Volkanovski on February 17th and Matsuyama’s victory on February 19th.

The bet was within reach as the favorites, the University Huskies and the South Carolina Gamecocks, were the only remaining top seeds in their respective tournaments.
In the women’s national championship, the Gamecocks defeated Iowa’s Caitlin Clark to become the clear favorite to win.
Meanwhile, coach Dan Hurley led UW to a dominant performance in men’s March Madness with six straight double-digit wins.
