UFC fighter Holly Holm has responded to former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s claims that not only was she the best fighter of all time, but that the only reason she lost to Holm was because of a concussion.

“I know I’m the greatest fighter that ever lived,” Rousey said on the podcast.
Regarding her loss to Holm, Rousey went on to tell the host that her “mouthguard was bad” and that she recently suffered a concussion “from falling down some stairs.” This, she claimed, was coupled with a “terrible weight loss” that kept her on her feet for the entire match, which lasted a total of 5 minutes and 59 seconds.
Holm was asked about Rousey’s comments at the meeting. Press conference in front of UFC 300.
“Do you feel like she’s trying to steal your victory after all these years? Do you think this is right?” a reporter asked.
“Everything I say, I’m sure people will just take parts and make it sound the way you guys want it to sound…I say this all with all due respect: of that match. That’s what you have to do to pull off a big upset like that.” We had a dominant champion, and if she wasn’t so dominant, we wouldn’t have had that upset,” Holm said. I prefaced it.
“That said, I was the better fighter and I was the better fighter that night. Every fighter at this point in their fighting career has suffered a concussion at some point in their fighting career. You’ve probably seen it before.”
Holm added that he “definitely had a concussion” before his UFC career and said he would never use that as an excuse for a loss.
“I think it’s probably hard for her to really admit that I was the better fighter. Was she that dominant and that good of a champion? 100%. I give it to her. I’ll admit, she wasn’t better than me, especially that night,” Holm explained.
Holm continues to fight at age 42, while Rousey retired at age 28, a year after her fight with Holm.
