Democratic Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser is scheduled to be in Augusta, Ga., on the same Saturday as the Masters golf tournament, according to her public calendar, and has added a “sports and economic development visit” to her schedule.
This is a great spin. A “sports and economic development visit” is the perfect euphemism for bringing tax-funded thugs to Georgia.
I have to borrow this from Mayor Bowser. “Sorry, Boss, I won’t be here today. I’m traveling to Cancun for sports and economic development. Yeah. There’s a lot of important things happening here. It’s going to be very enriching for the whole community.”

But seriously, do we really believe Mayor Bowser was in Augusta for any reason other than watching the Masters?
Several of Mr. Bowser’s political allies were reportedly seen taking part in a photo shoot for the Glam newspaper.both from Washington Former Director of Nightlife and Culture According to Alex Koma of the Washington City Paper, Sean Townsend and former 4th Ward City Councilman Brandon Todd posted photos of the Masters on Instagram.

So at least Bowser brought his friends along for the fun. (Related: Democratic mayor floats bill to roll back post-George Floyd police reforms amid massive crime spike)
The Daily Caller reached out to Mayor Bowser’s office to ask if there were any other events on the record besides the Masters, but did not receive a response in time for publication.
If the Masters was truly the only tournament, then I have to salute Bowser and her blatant disregard for anything like professionalism. The public is completely unconcerned that her personal leisure travels are treated as official government business. I love it. This is like the guy in the office who pays his company an expense because he drank 20 beers on a golf trip with a client.
A classic prank.
