A man who crashed a stolen 18-wheeler into a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) office, killing one person and injuring 13 others, is facing multiple charges, authorities said.
Kleinard Parker, 42, is charged with evading arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle and multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to online records from the Washington County Jail.
The accident occurred Friday in Brenham, Texas. Texas DPS said the accident occurred around 11 a.m. while Parker was being pursued by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The truck then made a “sharp right turn” and crashed into a driver’s license and auto service building, injuring multiple people and killing one, officials said. Parker was arrested at the scene.

Brenham is a city located between Austin and Houston. The accident occurred the day after Parker visited the DPS office.
“During Mr. Parker’s stay, the driver’s license officer advised Mr. Parker that he was not eligible to renew his commercial driver’s license,” said Texas DPS Sgt.Justin Lewis said: FOX 7 Austin.

According to FOX 7, the Brenham DPS office is currently closed to anyone needing services while the investigation into the crash by the Texas Rangers continues.
“Based on the details so far, this was an intentional act of violence against innocent citizens and public servants working at this facility,” State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst said on Platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Posted on. “As we said at the press conference, we intend to prosecute this despicable person to the fullest extent of the law.”

“Let’s join together in praying for the fallen Texans, the injured, and their loved ones,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott posted on X.

Parker’s bond is set at $2 million. He has been arrested on charges dating back to 1999, including trespassing, arson and prohibited weapons. FOX Houston report.
