Mark Driscoll Calls Out Megachurch over Controversial Sword-Swallowing Performance at Men’s Event

Reverend Mark Driscoll criticized Alex Megara’s sword-swallowing performance (America’s Got Talent 2013, Britain’s Got Talent 2016), likening it to something seen in a strip club, I left the stage at a church men’s conference.

“I’ve been up since 1 a.m.,” says Driscoll, founder and senior pastor of Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Said attendees of Strongman’s Conferenceheld on April 12th and 13th at the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, Missouri.

“The reason I’m hoarse is because I’m praying and my heart is so heavy for you. And I want to be very careful about this, so it’s not something I want to say. But the spirit of Jezebel is already here.”

“The Spirit of Jezebel opened our event. This is not a rebuke or correction to anyone. This is an observation. Before the Word of God was opened, there was an altar,” he continued. Ta. It was a pole, an Asherah, the same one used in strip clubs by women with a Jezebel spirit to seduce men.

“There was a man in front of him and he tore his shirt off like a woman would do in front of a pole in a strip club.”

according to newsweekMr Driscoll said the man “climbed” onto the pole before “swallowing the sword and Jesus cried out.”

“Okay, Pastor John, I’ll take it,” Driscoll said before exiting the stage. “thank you.”

When Lindell took the stage after Driscoll left, attendees began booing loudly, and many could be heard shouting, “Bring him back!”

“Mark is insane. If Mark wanted to say it, he should have told me first. He didn’t,” Lindell insisted, but the boos and chants continued.

Then he quoted Matthew chapter 18It says, “If your brother offends you, go to him secretly.”

“I talked to Mark for about 30 minutes and he never said anything like that. He’s out of line. If he wanted to say it, he could tell me,” Lindell said. . We may not agree with his views, but we are brothers in Christ and there is a right way to deal with this. ”
