The body of the fourth person killed in the Baltimore bridge collapse last month has been recovered from the scene, authorities announced Monday.

“As we mourn the lives lost and continue our recovery efforts, we recognize that each missing person is someone’s beloved friend or family member,” Maryland State Police Superintendent Col. Roland L. Butler Jr. said in a statement. “I am doing so,” he said.
“We are committed to working with all of our law enforcement partners to ensure the physical and technical aspects of their training are thorough, utilizing all available resources.”
Rescue teams at the scene alerted Maryland State Police after finding a vehicle believed to be one of the missing construction vehicles from the bridge. Maryland State Police, FBI and Maryland Transit Authority police later “found a deceased victim trapped inside the vehicle,” according to the statement.
The Key Bridge Response Unified Command said officials notified the victim’s family on Monday.
Late last month, the transport ship Dali lost power while leaving the Port of Baltimore on its way to Sri Lanka and crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing it to collapse.
Six of the eight construction workers working on the bridge that night were killed in the collapse. The Coast Guard then began efforts to recover the victims’ bodies.
