Manhattan prosecutors on Tuesday asked Judge Marchand to fine Donald Trump $3,000 and hold him in “contempt of court” for allegedly violating a gag order for contempt of a trial witness.
Trump, 77, was ordered in March to comply with a limited gag order that prohibits him from slamming witnesses in his hush money trial, including former fixer Michael Cohen and porn star Stormy Daniels.
He is still allowed to bash Manhattan Prosecutor Alvin Bragg and Judge Marchand, but he is prohibited from robbing their families.
Still, Trump attacked both Cohen and Daniels in social media posts over the weekend.
In one of his posts, President Trump shared Daniels’ 2018 statement in which she denied having sex and falsely claimed it was a new sexual act. Daniels repeatedly said she was coerced into writing the statement and called the alleged secret meeting with Trump “the worst 90 seconds of my life.”

Prosecutors are asking Marchand to fine Trump $3,000 on three counts of gag order violations, and up to 30 days for violating the court order again, according to Tuesday’s court filing. He reportedly warned the former president that he could be sentenced to prison.
Trump’s lawyers plan to file their own court papers, and Marchan has scheduled a hearing on the matter for next Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

President Trump also repeatedly slammed the gag order on the internet.
“Lift the gag order!!!” he wrote in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday morning.
