A Disney Cruise Line employee was arrested on child pornography charges on Monday, making him the third crew member employed by the children’s cruise line to be charged with illness this year.
Disney Dream crew member Tirso Neri, 44, was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol and Homeland Security after sexually explicit images and videos of a 9-year-old girl were discovered on his cell phone, according to a criminal complaint. He was arrested by Ministry of Security officials.
Neri, from the Philippines, was charged with transporting child pornography and possession of child pornography stemming from a search of two cellphones in December.
According to a complaint filed in the Southern District of Florida, federal agents boarded the Disney Dream ship as it arrived from the Bahamas at the port of Fort Lauderdale Port Everglades, Florida, and searched the crew cabins. .
Officers seized two mobile phones belonging to Neri and found “numerous sexually explicit photographs and videos of young children of unknown age.”
A subsequent investigation revealed that a cruise ship employee had a folder with the names of victims believed to be minors, which contained sexual and nude photos and videos of minors. Also included were several Philippine passport photos showing his date of birth.
The complaint states her passport confirmed that she was 17 years old at the time the footage was taken.
In an interview with Port Everglades officials, Neri said he downloaded adult pornography and purchased links containing explicit content from various group chats on Telegram and Facebook Messenger. .
According to court documents, the man claimed he received a folder containing images and videos of the 17-year-old girl from one of the group chats and saved it to his phone without looking at it.
A subsequent forensic examination of his phone revealed that the images were not only stored, but also viewed by the phone’s user.
Other videos later discovered on Neri’s cell phone showed a 10- to 12-year-old boy having sex with a 12- to 14-year-old girl, and a young girl naked with an adult man in the Philippines. The video reportedly showed the words “9 Years Old Delicious” written in Japanese. on the screen, the complaint states.
Neri is being held at the Broward Main Jail.
Two other Disney Cruise Line employees, Alvin Gonzalez, 49, and Amiel Torazo, 28, were each arrested and charged in January with felony possession of child pornography. Both are from the Philippines and were on board the Disney Dream. Local 10 News reported.
Disney Cruise Line did not respond to a request for comment.
However, a company spokesperson told local media in Florida that Neri is no longer an employee.
“In line with our zero-tolerance policy for this type of alleged behavior, this individual is no longer with our company,” a spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday.
