A Cornell University faculty member was arrested after a campus event that featured conservative author and Breitbart News contributor Ann Coulter as the keynote speaker.
Associate Professor Monica Cornejo was arrested Tuesday for disorderly conduct during a question and answer session for Ann Coulter’s lecture, the Information magazine reported. report by Cornell Daily Sun.
Video footage posted on social media shows police attempting to remove the woman from the event, with the woman saying: “Don’t touch me.” Don’t touch her. Why am I being arrested? don’t touch me stop. “

Officers then told the woman, believed to be Cornejo, that she was being arrested on suspicion of “disturbing the peace.”
“I’m a teacher. Please don’t touch me,” the woman replied. “Get up. Don’t touch me. Keep your hands off me.” She then got up from her seat and left the venue while Coulter continued her remarks.
Coulter, who graduated from Cornell University in 1984, returned to campus Tuesday to speak in a lecture titled “Immigration: The Conspiracy to End America.”

Other audience members present during Tuesday’s talk did little to disturb Coulter while he spoke. cornell daily sun I got it.
This is not the first time Coulter has faced adversaries while visiting Cornell’s campus.
During his last appearance at Cornell University in November 2022, the conservative commentator was forced to cancel the event after being silenced by repeated screams, threats, and abuse from attendees.
Last month, President Michael Kotlikoff said Coulter had been invited back to the university to “correct” what happened the last time she was on campus.
“We came here to right what happened a year and a half ago. [Coulter] “Invited Cornell students were prevented from speaking at Cornell, and I did not attend,” Kotlikoff said. cornell daily sun.
Kotlikoff added, “I would like to remind all participants that Cornell University values free and open inquiry and expression and strives to build a community where diverse opinions can be expressed.”
Prior to the event, Kotlikoff also reportedly made it clear to attendees that Coulter had the right to speak without intimidation, adding that anyone who disrupted the event would be punished.
