Country star Tim McGraw dons Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever jersey at concert in Indianapolis

At a concert in Indianapolis on Thursday, Tim McGraw paid tribute to Indianapolis’ newest star.

The Indiana Fever selected Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft on Monday, automatically making her one of the area’s greatest athletes.

Three days later, McGraw was in town for the Standing Room Only Tour and took to the stage wearing a Clark jersey.

“We love it, we love it,” the Fevers X account posted Thursday, in reference to McGraw’s song “I Like It I Love It.”

Most Clark jersey sizes are Sold out within an hour at Fanatics.

Clark was excited to see the Fever had the top pick and the opportunity to stay relatively close to home.

“Obviously, I’m a Midwestern girl and I’m from Iowa. This is five hours from Iowa City and seven hours from Des Moines, where I grew up. But I’m so excited. This is a great place for basketball. “It’s the state. People love it here,” she told Pat McAfee earlier this week.

Clark has captivated the sports world to such an extent that legendary South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley has called her one of the best players in women’s basketball history, and has already led millions of fans to become a WNBA rookie. Heading into the season.

Clark averaged 28.4 points in four seasons with the Hawkeyes, including 31.6 points, 8.9 assists and 7.4 rebounds per game during his incredible 2023-2024 senior season.

She set many records this past season, but perhaps none is more prestigious than becoming the NCAA’s all-time points leader.

Clark finished his career with 3,951 total points, including 548 3-pointers on 1,452 attempts and 37.7% from beyond the arc.

She was also the star of four of the most-watched women’s college basketball games in history, three of which were Iowa State’s final three games of this latest March Madness tournament.
