Protesters at Columbia University chanted pro-terrorism slogans this week, despite a series of arrests by New York police over the killing of Israeli soldiers who illegally occupied the campus.
The video of the pro-terrorism chant, some of which was in Arabic, was filmed by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). Demonstrators called for the killing of Israeli soldiers and for Palestine to become “Arab” without Jews.

Similar videos have been circulating on social media showing other extremist slogans, often of an Islamic nature, being chanted.

A photo has been released of one of the pro-Palestinian protesters holding American and Israeli flags, clearly calling for the killing of pro-Israel counter-protesters.
Someone sent me this from Colombia tonight. Some of the Jewish students were holding Israeli and American flags, so this girl stood in front of the students with a sign below her.
Al-Qassam is the military wing of Hamas.

The protests coincided with last week’s Congressional testimony from Columbia University President Nemat Shafik and other university officials regarding the issue of anti-Semitism on campus. They all acknowledged it was a problem, but could not explain the lenient treatment given to students and others who violated university policy.
Columbia University has been a hotbed of student activism since the 1960s, when students became the first university to occupy the administration building in protest of the Vietnam War. But it has been a particular center of anti-Israel radicalism since the days of Edward Said, a radical Palestinian intellectual who worked as a professor at Columbia University.
Despite being located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, a majority-Jewish (and Dominican) part of Manhattan, Colombia has experienced overt anti-Semitism since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack. The standoff with Colombia is expected to continue into this week.
