Nelly Korda’s history-making win at Chevron Championship breeds flawless reactions

Nelly Korda is playing crazy right now.

The world number one won the Chevron Championship in style on Sunday, clinching her fifth consecutive title. She won the Women’s Professional Golf Championship in 2021, which is also the second major in her career.

In doing so, Korda joined an exclusive club in history. She became the third woman in history to win five consecutive tournaments. Only Nancy Lopez in 1978 and Annika Sorenstam in 2004 and 2005 have achieved this feat.

Korda won the LPGA Drive On Championship in January and then took a two-month break.

The 25-year-old phenom has since returned to win the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship, the Ford Championship, the T-Mobile Match Play, and now the Chevron Championship.

What Korda is doing in the golf world right now is pretty remarkable, and his fans are noticing it.

Korda struggled Sunday, especially on the back nine. She hit her tee shot into the water on the 15th, cutting her lead to two strokes.

But she regained her composure and showed how truly focused she was on the 17th.

Korda hit the flagstick with his tee shot and almost fell into a hole-in-one.

She won by two places at 13 under par.

She and Scottie Scheffler on the PGA Tour are making history at the same time. Sunday’s coronation ceremony was canceled due to weather, but RBC Heritage remains in good hands.

This is his fourth win in his past five starts, giving fans something to compare to.

It’s rare enough for either a man or a woman to accomplish these two things. But for them to do it at the same time is really special.

That’s happening because women’s golf is also growing. Sponsor funding is at an all-time high and the pocketbooks are getting bigger and bigger.

I hope that this will lead to further growth of the women’s game.
