Texas man charged with murder after woman’s body found in closet

A Texas man has been charged with murder after the woman he was dating was found wrapped in a blanket and stuffed in a closet, according to court documents.

FOX 4 in Dallas reported that 34-year-old Omar Lucio was arrested on April 15 and charged with the murder of 27-year-old Corinna Johnson.

Prior to the arrest, the Garland Police Department notified the Dallas Police Department that a woman had called 911 to report that another woman had been bludgeoned to death and was inside an apartment on W. Wheatland Street.

When officers arrived at the apartment, Lucio was inside and refused to come out, but he complied and was arrested about an hour later.

Responding officers then entered the apartment and followed a trail of blood from the front door to the bathroom and into the bedroom closet, according to court documents obtained by the department.

Police found Johnson’s body wrapped in Lucio’s bedding in a closet.

Further investigation led police to Lucio’s car in the parking lot, where they found bloody clothing inside.

The woman who reported the body told investigators she went to the apartment after receiving a call from Lucio asking for help.

The court affidavit said Lucio told the woman he had been drinking with Johnson when he was kicked out of the bar because of Johnson. Afterward, Lucio said he “pushed some logic” at Johnson, causing him to become unresponsive.

The caller told investigators he saw Johnson’s body on the bathroom floor, her face bruised and bloodied. He also told police that the woman appeared to be dead. The next day, a woman reported the body to the police.

When investigators spoke with Lucio, he allegedly admitted to hitting Johnson, who was in the car, with a “swipe” with his bare hands.

Detectives noted in the affidavit that Lucio appeared to have injuries to his hands, and there was blood under his fingernails and on his left shoe.

Police also noted that Lucio did not tell investigators how Johnson ended up in the closet, wrapped in a blanket.

FOX 4 reported that Johnson’s family had urged the mother of the 7-year-old to stay away from Lucio.

Johnson’s sister, Erica Hernandez, told the station that her sister was “the funniest person ever,” and the victim’s aunt, Kathy Garrow, said Johnson was “always smiling.” Told.

“She didn’t deserve what she got,” Garrow said. “Not at all.”

Johnson’s family said she and Lucio had been together for six years and became worried when Johnson came home with a black eye and bruises.
