At least 45 people were arrested at Yale University on Monday after police in riot gear entered the campus to quell a pro-Palestinian protest. Face-to-face classes were also canceled on this day.
The arrests came after nearly 200 pro-Palestinian protesters gathered to demand that Yale University divest from its military weapons manufacturing company. Yale Daily News report.
Protesters camped at Beinecke Square on the university campus for three days, Breitbart News reported.
On Friday night, an anti-Israel mob occupied the campus and tore down the American flag in what they said was an act of intimidation against Jewish students and the university.
The video went viral on social media on Saturday and Sunday, with activists wearing kaffiyeh cheering and cheering as they tore down the American flag.

According to a report in the student newspaper, responding officers first warned protesters that they risked arrest if they did not remove people, including students, before handcuffing and arresting them.
Those arrested were transported by Yale University shuttle bus.

The protesters have been charged with first-degree trespassing. The Yale Daily News has been published.
Yale University President Peter Salovey sent an email to students on Sunday warning that the school would “take disciplinary action in accordance with policy” as the protests continued.
