Jewish Columbia student says protesters burned his Israeli flag, hit him in face with rocks

A Jewish student at Columbia University says anti-Israel demonstrators snatched his Israeli flag and burned it, then hit him in the face with a rock during a weekend campus riot.

Lederer has clashed with anti-Israel mobs in recent weeks as demonstrations intensify at Columbia University, Yale University and other university campuses.

On Thursday, he was among the Jewish students who praised the NYPD’s campus raid that handcuffed more than 100 protesters, who returned to school grounds just one day later.

“It wasn’t violent, but it showed that rules were being enforced and that they were needed,” Lederer said at the time. “Otherwise, there will be chaos if the rules are not enforced.”
