Several Israeli universities have condemned the rise in anti-Semitism on American university and college campuses and are offering “assistance” to faculty and students.

Situations have arisen in which students, faculty and staff are forced to hide their identities or avoid campus altogether for fear of physical harm.
University presidents continued to point out that “freedom of expression and the right to demonstrate” are important to “the health of any democracy,” but this includes “the right to use violence or intimidate the community.” “It does not include the right to do anything or to call for the destruction of the State of Israel.” ”
“We offer support to Jewish and Israeli students and faculty who are facing this difficult situation,” the letter added. “We will do our best to assist those who wish to enroll in Israeli universities and find comfortable academic and private housing.”
The joint letter comes amid pro-Palestinian protests and encampments on campuses including Columbia University, Yale University, New York University, University of North Carolina, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and George Washington University.
Since the encampments and protests began, students have been suspended or arrested on several campuses, and graduation ceremonies have been canceled.
