Bill Barr responds to Trump insults by vowing to vote for him over ‘unfit’ Biden

Former Attorney General Bill Barr faced harsh criticism from former boss Donald Trump on Friday, even though he has been an outspoken critic of Biden, the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee, since leaving the administration. In response to criticism, he doubled down on his support for the “unqualified” President Biden.

“Biden is not fit to be president,” Barr told CNN anchor Caitlan Collins.

“I think Trump is less damaging than Biden. I think all of this is a threat to democracy. I think the real threat to democracy is the progressive movement and the Biden administration,” he added.

Barr has become a vocal opponent of President Trump since leaving office in 2020. Less than a year ago, he warned that the country would be in “chaos” and a “horror show” if the billionaire returned to the White House.

He said many of Trump’s legal problems were “completely his own doing” and that Trump’s ability to advocate was “very limited.”

After learning of Barr’s plans to vote for him, President Trump returned the favor by slamming his former staffer on Truth Social.

“Oh! Bill Barr, the former general election official who let down so many great people by not investigating our country’s voter fraud, is the one who called me “weak, slow, lethargic, The New York Post just endorsed me as a presidential candidate, even though they called me ‘gutless and lazy’! ),” President Trump posted on Truth Social.

“Based on the fact that I deeply appreciate his heartfelt support, I am removing the word ‘apathy’ from my statement. Thank you, Bill,” President Trump wrote.

Mr. Collins read out his message to Mr. Barr almost verbatim on live television.

“Typical Trump,” Barr replied with a laugh. “I’m very disappointed that this country is stuck with this choice…I don’t think either of us should be president of the United States, but given the choice, I have to choose Trump.” feel like.”

When Mr. Collins asked how Mr. Barr could vote for someone who publicly mocked him, the former attorney general said, “That’s not about me.” Rather, who did he think would “do the least damage to the country”?
