Jonah Raoul thought he might be getting punked.
The standout defensive tackle from the University of Oklahoma was finally selected in the draft after a long wait, but even he didn’t believe it.
Raul received a call from Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard, which made him question reality.
“Welcome to Indy,” Ballard said by phone. “We’re drafting you here.”
Raul replied, “That wasn’t a prank call, was it?”
Ballard insisted, “It’s not a prank call, I promise,” and burst into laughter during the call.
Raul was the Colts’ last pick of the week in the seventh round, 234th overall.
Raul played the past two seasons at the University of Oklahoma.
Last year, he played on a Sooners team that finished the season 15th in the final Associated Press poll, recording three tackles for loss and one sack from the inside defensive line.

He recorded 34 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and four sacks before departing for Oklahoma before the 2022 season.
