Harvey Weinstein Rushed to Hospital After Court Overturns One NY Conviction

Disgraced Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein returned to New York on Saturday night for a series of tests after the city’s highest court overturned his 2020 conviction on sex crime charges. He was rushed to the hospital.

As Breitbart News reported, the 4-3 ruling overturned one of the #MeToo movement’s defining cases, but Weinstein was sentenced to 16 years for rape in California. He will continue to be imprisoned.

“The New York City Department of Corrections has determined that Mr. Weinstein requires immediate treatment,” his attorney Arthur L. Aidala said in a statement. Said AFP said in a statement.

Police confirmed that the Oscar winner was taken to New York’s Bellevue Hospital.

Weinstein, 72, was found guilty in a New York court in 2020 of rape and sexual assault of former actress Jessica Mann in 2013 and of forced oral sex on former production assistant Mimi Haley in 2006. received.

He was later sentenced to 23 years in prison.

His lawyer, Arthur Aidala, said in a statement to the press that he was badly treated during the recent trial, saying: “They didn’t give him a sip of water, they didn’t give him food, they didn’t give him a bathroom break. ” he added. He is a 72-year-old sickly man. ”

“We are cautiously excited” by the court’s decision to overturn the ruling, Weinstein’s spokeswoman Judah Engelmayer said in a statement.
