1.6M Migrants Awaiting Entry to U.S. through Biden’s Parole Pipeline

A significant number of foreign nationals are waiting for permission to travel to the United States as part of President Joe Biden’s parole pipeline, federal documents reveal.

A document released Tuesday by House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) detail Details about the administration’s CHNV program, which allowed more than 400,000 citizens of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to travel to the United States at their own expense from January 2023 to March 2024.

Notably, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) informed the committee that as of mid-October 2023, “approximately 1.6 million” foreign nationals had applied for authorization to travel to the United States under the CHNV program. He said there was.

For comparison, as of last fall, the number of foreign nationals seeking to enter the United States through the CHNV program was greater than the population of 11 states, including Delaware, Rhode Island, Montana and the Dakotas.

“Currently, the monthly limit is 30,000.” [Advance Travel Authorizations] What may be issued [to foreign nationals] CHNV process,” DHS officials said in their response to the committee.

DHS officials also acknowledged in their response that even though the government has opened up the parole pipeline for foreign nationals to travel to the United States, they are still not allowed under federal law. . meaning They have no legal basis to stay in the US

“All individuals paroled into the United States, including those paroled under the CHNV process, are by definition inadmissible,” DHS officials wrote.

More than 50 airports in the United States and neighboring countries are used by foreign nationals approved to travel to the United States through the CHNV program, according to the document.

From January 2023 to August 2023, the top US cities for CHNV applicants are:

  • miami, florida
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • New York City, New York
  • houston, texas
  • Orlando, Florida
  • Los Angeles, California
  • tampa, florida
  • dallas, texas
  • San Francisco, California
  • atlanta, georgia
  • newark new jersey
  • Washington DC
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Austin, Texas

While previous reports indicated which airports were most likely to be used for the CHNV program, these documents indicate the range of airports involved in facilitating the program.

Green said the document “reveals an extraordinary length.” [DHS] secretary [Alejandro] Mr. Mayorkas intends to ensure that inadmissible foreigners can reach every corner of the country, from Orlando and Atlanta to Las Vegas and San Francisco. ”

“Secretary Mayorkas’ CHNV parole plan is an illegal ploy used to hide the worsening border crisis from the American people,” Green continued. “The implementation of a program that allows otherwise inadmissible aliens direct entry into the United States has proven to be an impeachable offense.”
