Anti-Israel activists continue to set up new pro-Palestinian camps even as others have been cleared by police, with the latest camps at the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Installed.

Given that Gov. Greg Abbott (R) last week quickly dispatched Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers to clear a similar encampment at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas at the University of Texas at Dallas. The protests are noteworthy. UCSD’s protests also risk creating friction with the local Jewish community, as the campus is located near the heart of La Jolla’s Orthodox Jewish neighborhood.

fox 5 san diego report:

Pro-Palestinian demonstrations intensified on college campuses in San Diego on Wednesday, with encampments forming on the campus of the University of California, San Diego, and students at the University of San Diego walking out of class to commemorate those killed in Gaza. I went.

Protests began less than a day later. Hundreds of students at San Diego State University went on strikecalled on university authorities to sever economic ties with Israel and increase support for Palestinian members of the campus community.

All three are comprised of movements launched by students on college campuses across the country in opposition to the Gaza conflict and U.S. involvement in the war. Protesters are specifically calling on schools to withdraw from Israel and condemn the ongoing military offensive, which they describe as an ongoing genocide.

The only “genocide” in this conflict is Hamas’s Genocide Charter, which calls for the annihilation of Israel and the murder of Jews around the world. The UCSD protests also used the term “intifada,” which refers to a violent uprising. The last intifada was a bloody campaign of bombing and shooting by Palestinians against Israelis, mostly civilians.

update: Police broke up the encampment at the University of Texas at Dallas just hours after it was set up.

local fox 4 news report Police say they have arrested 17 people at UT-Dallas.
