In the wake of Marciano’s past allegations of “anger management issues” and complaints about his behavior, network executives decided the latest outburst was “the last straw,” sources told The Daily Beast.
The Post reported earlier this week that Marciano, who was hired by GMA in 2014 to replace Gee as weekend meteorologist, had frequently clashed with Gee over the years.
Their feud was kept secret by management for years, but management was aware of Marciano’s “impatient” and Gee’s “mean” tendencies, sources told the Post.
“She treated him as a beta and she was an alpha,” a media executive told the Post.
According to the Daily Beast, Marciano had an embarrassing tendency to “overshare” information about his divorce from his then-wife, Erin Marciano, which made female GMA staff uncomfortable.
Marciano and Erin Marciano’s marriage ended in January of last year.
The two were married for 11 years and had two children.
Staff members also complained that Marciano was “grumpy” throughout the divorce proceedings.
The Post has reached out to ABC News, Marciano and Gee for comment.

At the time, Gee was promoted to chief meteorologist at “GMA” after Sam Champion left for the Weather Channel.
But the two often clashed, and Gee quickly “dropped down the ranks” on assignments, sources told the Post.
Marciano also reportedly alienated other staff members at the network with his behavior.
Last year, ABC network chiefs banned him from the GMA studios in Times Square for making his co-workers uncomfortable.Page 6 is The person who first reported the news.
“It turns out he did something wrong, he was punished for it, and they still haven’t brought him back,” one source told Page Six at the time.
Marciano occasionally contributed field reports to GMA, but was not allowed access to the studio.
He recently moved to “World News Tonight.”
A source told the Post earlier this week that Marciano’s salary — said to be just under $1 million at the time he was hired from “Entertainment Tonight” — may have been considered too high. .
