John MacArthur Claims There’s No Such Thing as Mental Illness

Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, recently claimed that mental illnesses such as PTSD, OCD, and ADHD do not exist.inside panel discussion in Grace Church of the Valley Last Thursday, MacArthur answered a question about helping parents struggling with America’s “cultural disaster.”

“Simply put, children are sinful. I have great-grandchildren;3 or 4, their sinful nature begins to be revealed. Moreover, the sins of the fathers extend back to the third and fourth generations,” MacArthur said.

He also shared that this culture has targeted children and trapped them in sin.

Regarding mental illness, MacArthur said that the increasing diagnosis of children with mental illnesses is related to not teaching them personal responsibility, and that giving them drugs for these illnesses , argued that children end up becoming drug addicts and potentially criminals.

“I was reading an interesting book called “Job Without a Reason.” This is basically what some people say is that psychiatry and psychology are finally admitting the noble lie they’ve been telling for the past 100 years. “It’s a book that reveals something quite shocking to people,” MacArthur said. Said.

“And the Great Noble Lie is that there is such a thing as mental illness. Now, this is nothing new. Thomas Szasz is a psychiatrist who wrote a book about “The Myth of Mental Illness.” I am. There is no such thing as PTSD. There is no such thing as OCD. There is no such thing as ADHD. These are, after all, noble lies to give people an excuse to medicate. And big pharmaceutical companies are responsible for much of it,” the pastor argued.

Regarding PTSD, MacArthur described it as “sadness.”

“If you understand, let’s take PTSD as an example. It’s actually sadness. You’re fighting a war that you’ve lost. Comrades, you have some level of survival guilt. Because , because you came back and they didn’t. Grief is real. But grief is a part of life, and if you can’t get over it, live life. “I can’t go on,” MacArthur declared.

“But when you define it clinically, you can give them a pill or a series of medications, and they end up going to L.A. and being homeless on the sidewalk. This is true when it comes to children. “This is the deadliest thing ever released on children: drugs,” he added.

According to reports christian postMacArthur also shared that several Christian publishers refused to publish his new book. The War on Children: Providing Refuge for Children in a Hostile World.

“We try to make it clear to parents that behavior is fundamentally the result of children’s choices. And if you raise them well, they will make the right choices. ” he said. But if you attribute it to something other than your own choices, and identify that there is something that can’t be done about it other than giving them medication, you could literally make your child a drug addict. Not only that, but you could also become a criminal. They never learn how to live their lives in a socially acceptable way. ”
