Democrats Losing ‘Moral High Ground’ by Not Condemning Protests

MSNBC host Al Sharpton said on “Morning Joe” Thursday that Democrats have lost their moral high ground by not condemning the pro-Palestinian student protests on college campuses across the country.

Panelist Donnie Deutsch said, “I don’t care about politics, I don’t care about the worries of the left, I don’t care about the worries of young people. Joe Biden needs to be the leader and frankly condemn what’s going on here.”

Co-host Joe Scarborough said, “This is something that Democrats are not mad about and they will never understand.” That’s what frustrates me about the Democratic Party. I voted for the war before I voted against it. Well, I’m always worried, but what about his 5% of people on the far left who call me this and that? No, call this. This is wrong, please call this. Say we need to help the people of Gaza. We need to end the threat of hunger in Gaza. We need to pressure Prime Minister Netanyahu towards a ceasefire and bring the hostages home. This undermines our greater purpose. ”

Sharpton said: “Let me say this, the politics, what are they taking away by not doing that, Joe, you and I agree, even though similar things are happening on college campuses. , the Democratic Party, and all of us on that side, how can you say January 6th was wrong? You lose your moral high ground.”

Co-host Mika Brzezinski said, “Lord, please don’t do what happened on January 6th.”

Mr Scarborough said: That’s what happened. ”
