Arrests Hit 2000+ as Anti-Israel Protests Continue to Roil U.S. Campuses

Anti-Israel demonstrations have rocked university campuses across the United States in recent weeks, and the number of arrests of protesters is now rising as authorities seek to end the chaos.

AP report Despite police using riot gear, tactical vehicles and flashbang devices to clear tent encampments and occupied buildings, the protests and arrests show no signs of stopping anytime soon. Nearly 2,200 people were arrested during the period in question.

Despite the arrests, students are petitioning for special treatment and demanding no record of their lawful detention.

The Associated Press report describes the methodology for assessing the number of arrests:

At least 56 arrests have been recorded at 43 U.S. universities since April 18, according to an Associated Press tally. The numbers are based on reporting from The Associated Press and statements from universities and law enforcement agencies.

As reported by Breitbart News, former President Donald Trump said Thursday that police officers will arrest a number of “radical leftist,” anti-Israel “lunatics” on the campuses of Columbia University and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He said he had taken an admirable action.

Trump, who is running as a law-and-order candidate against President Joe Biden in the 2024 election, told reporters before entering a Manhattan courthouse that radical “idiots” will “take over this country.” He said that should not be allowed.

“I’m very proud of New York’s finest. They’re also great, great people. I know a lot of them. They’re incredible. They work in Columbia. And similarly, in Los Angeles, they did a really good job at UCLA.” Said.

“This is a movement from the left, not the right. Rights don’t matter, no matter what law enforcement wants to say,” as the Breitbart report pointed out. I talked about this.

“The FBI director said he’s concerned about rights. Don’t worry about rights. The right is fine. This is a movement from the left, so worry about the left.”
