The future role of electric humanoid robots
The new electric Atlas is the culmination of many years of technological innovation. While Boston Dynamics has traditionally focused on legged robots, we recognize that the humanoid form factor is not a limitation. The motorized Atlas moves efficiently without being limited by human range of motion, allowing him to rotate 360 degrees at all joints.
Atlas 2.0 tackles boring, dirty, and dangerous tasks in real-world commercial and industrial applications. Hyundai’s next generation factory will be the first testing ground. Boston Dynamics plans to sell its latest humanoid robot, but the price has not yet been disclosed.
