Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz plans to release a video Friday introducing a new style of campaigning focused on local communities and neighborhoods in the state, the Daily Caller reported.
The video we obtained was taken at the first stop of the Cul de Sac tour, which began in Cypress, Texas, in late April. In the video, Cruz explained why he is having these conversations with Texans across the state, saying he wants to answer questions in an intimate way with people across the political spectrum.
Cruz said he wants to hear from Texans and learn about Texas voters’ issues and concerns about the country. Cruz is running against Democratic Texas Congressman Colin Allred.
“This campaign is about keeping Texas, Texas, and we appeal to Texans from all walks of life to tell them how my work in the Senate is bringing jobs, freedom, and security to the Lone Star State. In this election, I wanted to meet people where they are. Indeed, we rally to fight back against Joe Biden’s radical policies. We can and will open up and energize the base, but I’m not just fighting the radical left in Washington, I’m also listening to Texans and turning their ideas into action and solutions. ” Cruz told the caller. “On this tour, I am focused on hearing directly from constituents about their personal needs and demonstrating how my team is consistently delivering results. I would do so again if given the right to do so,” he added. (Related: Exclusive: Ted Cruz presses tax-funded organization that erased recordings promoting DEI employment practices)
