On Friday, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced that, in partnership with Nike, the league’s official uniform supplier, changes to the new uniforms announced this season will be made for the 2025 season.

“Feedback from players and clubs is very important to us,” Manfred said in a statement. “Together with Nike, We are listening to our players and addressing their concerns as a result. ”

Criticism of MLB uniforms continues to mount as Tigers’ Riley Green slides home with his pants torn
According to MLB’s website, the league began working with Nike and Fanatics on uniform changes in 2018. Engineered to have 25% more stretch and dry 28% faster. Nike designed the new uniforms, and Fanatics produced them.

As an immediate solution this season, MLB is working to find a solution to the “slight color difference” between pants and jerseys that some teams wearing gray uniforms are dealing with. These uniforms will be distributed to these teams by the end of the season.
“We will continue to work with Nike and make adjustments with the goal of providing uniforms that look great and allow MLB players to perform at their best,” Manfred added.
