At Least 23 Shot Friday into Sunday Morning

At least 23 people were shot, two of them fatally, between Friday and Sunday morning in Chicago, the city of Mayor Brandon Johnson (D).

ABC7/ Chicago Sun-Times report One of the fatal shootings reportedly occurred just after midnight Saturday in the “3000 block of West Warren Boulevard.” Someone got out of a white sedan and opened fire, killing a 49-year-old man. The man was shot in the head.

About two hours later, at 1:50 a.m., a man of unknown age was found dead in the 3800 block of West Flournoy Street. He had also been shot in the head.

Breitbart News reported that Chicago Police Department Officer Luis M. Huesca was shot and killed just before 3 a.m. on April 21, 2024, while driving home from work at the department.

NBC5 report The suspect in the Huesca shooting death was arrested Wednesday after he was found hiding under an apartment sink.
