Judge Juan Marchan on Tuesday rejected a motion for a mistrial by former President Donald Trump’s attorney Todd Branch following testimony about his client from porn star Stormy Daniels.
Blanche called Daniels’ testimony “unfairly prejudicial” and said she believed there was no way to reverse the impact of what she said in 2006 about her alleged affair with Trump. Mr. Daniels discussed details unrelated to the case at hand. This was Trump’s alleged $130,000 payment to the porn star.
“All of this has nothing to do with this case,” Blanche said, adding that his testimony could “infuriate the jury.”
“The guardrails of this witness answering questions from the government were just thrown to the side,” Blanche said.
