Video: Gun-toting jewelry store owner knows just what to do after burglar breaks in — and shocked crook makes hilarious exit

After closing his Sidronie Jewelers store on Saturday, goldsmith Garrett Peddicord was settling into some “bench work” in the back of his store in Omaha, Nebraska, when something caught his eye on the security monitor. KETV TV reported.

It turned out that at around 11:30 p.m., a crook had thrown a large rock into one of the store’s front windows. After broken glass littered the floor, the robbers, dressed all in black, entered the store through a new opening.

“This kind of unprovoked attack on what I have worked so hard to build here is quite upsetting.”

Peddicord served in the U.S. military in Afghanistan for about three years and also owns Athena Arms in Bellevue, the station said. Naturally, he knew exactly what to do.

“I usually carry a firearm on my hip no matter how many hours have passed. It’s just one of those things,” he told KETV before patting his pocket and going through a mental checklist. . “Keys, wallets, firearms”

“Hey, Efer!”

Peddicord went to the scene with a gun drawn and told KETV that he intentionally made loud footsteps to warn the scammers that someone was coming. Peddicord added to the station that he also yelled, “Hey, Efer!” — Replaces the curse words he used that everyone knows with edited versions.

Suffice it to say, the robbers were very scared. I immediately threw up my hands, almost trotted to the exit, and dutifully jumped through the crack in the broken window.

“This kind of unprovoked attack on what I have worked so hard to build here is quite upsetting,” Peddicord told the station.

Pedicord told KETV that the gun he has is “just like any other tool” he keeps in his workshop. “They all serve a purpose, but this is the one tool I hope I never have to use,” he added to the station.

KETV noted that Omaha police could not immediately confirm whether the robber had been caught.
