Comedian Roseanne Barr slammed Hollywood’s famous women for “bashing” rising stars on Thursday’s “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
Barr had a wide-ranging conversation with fired TV actress Megyn Kelly from SiriusXM after she said former Roseanne co-star Sara Gilbert was “going to harm people.” I started.
“She’s trying to harm people. I should have fired her when I saw her trying to harm other female stars a long time ago,” Barr said. .
Mr. Barr told Mr. Kelly that Mr. Gilbert wore a fur coat and took “some friends” to the unidentified actress’ home. While the woman’s children were inside, she claimed Gilbert and others shouted from her garden, calling her a “murderer” because she was wearing clothing made of animals.
“Can you imagine that self-righteousness?” Mr. Barr asked.
“How dare you go into other people’s homes and property and judge them? By the way, we’re at the top of the food chain. Sorry, but that’s how it is,” Kelly added.
“But I mean, it’s like this,” Barr said. “You’re a Hollywood princess, right? You’ve been in Hollywood forever, in the upper echelons of the ruling class that bless every interest on earth. That’s your family. You’re a princess, a woman who just arrived. Are you going to confront her? What is this? And you know, that’s what Hollywood is. And people are discovering that.
“Hollywood is a boot in your face if you don’t toe the line,” she continued. “If you don’t toe the line as a woman, as an artist, or as a free thinker, or as a political party that they try to shove down our throats. Just steal, period. All political parties, everything is bullshit.”
Barr said Donald Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee, is “the only person” who is “willing to fight” against the poor treatment of dissenting voices by celebrities. “That guy is a populist, not a Republican per se. He’s kicking them all out of there,” Barr added.
Barr told Kelly that “it’s hard to sympathize” with people who “just pass by” when you’re despised as a public figure. The comedian added that “next time they come,” as “people of faith,” he “must forgive” them.
