L.A. Mayor Karen Bass Compares Pro-Israel Vigilantes at UCLA to January 6

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has compared pro-Israel vigilantes who stormed a pro-Palestinian “encampment” at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) last week to the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

As Breitbart News reported, the camp bullied Jewish students, assaulted journalists, and blocked access to campus for students, faculty, staff, and the general public for several days. The bus and university authorities did nothing to stop them.

In fact, he said security contractors and police had been instructed not to intervene. One UCLA security guard told Breitbart News that the activists have been put in charge of them and are guiding their deployment.

On the night of April 30th to May 1st, approximately 100 pro-Israel vigilantes attacked the encampment, and fighting ensued. That’s when elected leaders spoke out and UCLA and law enforcement moved to clear the encampment.

Bass vowed to prosecute those involved. Police have been using tactics derived from the January 6 investigation to identify and locate the suspect.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles Times reportBass emphasized the January 6 analogy:

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said Wednesday that Last week’s violence at UCLA to January 6th attack on the US Capitolit says, “came out of nowhere.”

Bass previously spoke in emotional terms about January 6, saying it was a tragedy that threatened the lives of journalists, first responders and others.

In an interview with Fox 11, Bass also questioned why the university allowed it. [a pro-Israel] The counter-protest was to take place next to a pro-Palestinian camp that had previously been largely peaceful.

Contrary to Basu’s statements, the “encampment” threatened and assaulted journalists. Furthermore, it was not “mostly peaceful,” but rather a portion of the campus was occupied by force and patrolled by force.

The university allowed “encampment” security control during pro-Israel protests, forcing pro-Israel demonstrators, including children, to weave their way through a cage of angry pro-Palestinian activists, leading to small scuffles. . throughout.
