The former Yankee signed with the Atlantic League’s Charleston Dirty Birds on Thursday after failing to sign with an MLB franchise this spring.

The 29-year-old outfielder is looking to return to the big leagues after a rocky start to his MLB career.

Frazier, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2013 draft, had been at the top of the prospect list for years, but was traded from the then-Indians to the Yankees in 2016 in a trade that sent reliever Andrew Miller to Cleveland.

After debuting in 2017, Frazier bounced between the minors and the majors until the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, when he batted .267/.394/.511, 8 in pinstripes. He recorded a home run.

This performance earned him the Yankees Opening Day left field job in 2021.

However, due to several injuries, including multiple concussions, and a disappointing performance on the field that season, he was released by the team in November 2021 after an up-and-down five years with the team.

Since leaving the Bronx, Frazier has spent time with the Cubs and White Sox in addition to minor league stints with the Rangers, but has yet to find his footing as a major leaguer.

When Frazier returned to Yankee Stadium with the White Sox last June, he said his time in New York was “more good than bad.”

“The biggest thing for me is that I don’t always get along with my co-workers,” Frazier said. “For me, it was necessary to put myself in a new environment. For me, and maybe for other people as well. I don’t mean that with any malicious intent. Not everyone is going to like each other. there is no.”

Frazier played in 33 games for Southside last season, hitting .197/.303/.242 in 76 at-bats and was demoted to Triple-A in July.
