Miami Police Department unveils new Rolls-Royce for recruitment

The Miami Beach Police Department’s latest recruiting tool is a $250,000 tricked-out Rolls-Royce patrol car.

“We are excited to bring this great talent to the MBPD recruitment team courtesy of Braman Motors,” the department said. Posted on Thursday on X It posted a video showing two police officers on motorcycles standing next to a luxury car equipped with lights and sirens.

The vehicle is on loan to the department from luxury car dealer Braman Motors to attract law enforcement applicants.

“It’s hard to recruit police officers in this country today. It’s great to use this vehicle to recruit,” said Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones. told WSVN 7 News at a promotional event in South Beach on Thursday.

In response to this unveiling, many people on social media said, “It’s unique to Miami.”

“I don’t know why, but I keep wanting to walk on the pedestrian bridge in Miami Beach, so I guess I’ll go for it,” one commenter wrote on the department’s post.

Others were less interesting. “Is this an episode of Reno 911?” one person said. “This must be a joke.”

“How can you make an entire city look so far removed from reality (because reality is reality)?” Radio host and Miami native Grant Stern posted on X.

Many questioned where the money for the decorated 2012 Rolls-Royce Ghost came from, but the ministry insisted there was no cost to taxpayers.

The car is on loan from the dealer and will eventually be returned. The Miami Herald reported. Braman is responsible for refueling and maintenance, and the unit is only responsible if the vehicle is damaged while in storage.
