A Florida sheriff has accused the Biden administration of “victimizing” Americans after an undocumented immigrant was charged with child sexual assault.
Earlier this month, 20-year-old Marvin Dionel Perez Lopez reportedly He was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping with intent to sexually assault a minor, sexual assault of a victim under 12 years of age, and resisting an officer without violence. He was being held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail.
The illegal immigrant is accused of snatching an 11-year-old girl from the street in Lake Worth, Florida. Lopez allegedly grabbed the girl’s hand and forced her into his van. She is then charged with sexual assault of a minor.
Lopez is a Guatemalan national who reportedly entered the United States illegally in January. He was allegedly arrested by the Border Patrol, but later released with a court date set for 2027.
The girl’s mother noticed that she had been missing for some time and went looking for her. She found the van near the apartment where she and Lopez lived. A concerned mother found her daughter in a van with an alleged sexual predator. She allegedly began screaming as she banged on the van door.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Lopez allegedly fled after a confrontation with his mother. His mother also went to Mr. Lopez’s house. She then called the police after the man allegedly asked for forgiveness.
When police tried to question Mr. Lopez, he allegedly fled through an apartment window and ran into an alley. He was eventually arrested.
Lopez reportedly forced the girl to perform sexual acts and then raped her after she rejected his advances.
“Sexual assault is much more prevalent in our community than we would like to believe. Stranger rape is more prevalent than acquaintance rape,” said Nicole Bishop, director of Palm Beach County Victim Services. It’s much less prevalent. So most of the time it’s from acquaintances.”
“Here is a Guatemalan who entered the country illegally. He was stopped by a released Border Patrol agent and headed to South Florida. And now he is holding an 11-year-old girl against her will and sexually assaulting her. They are committing the crime of adding to the crime,”’ said Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw.
“We’ve caught him. He’s confessed to the crime. So before he even thinks he’s going to be deported, he’s going to be tried for the death penalty. He’s here first. I’m going to spend some time,” Bradshaw continued. “The federal government is victimizing people who live in this country by allowing them to come into this country.”
