Steve Buscemi was reportedly punched in the face by a passerby while walking in Manhattan in broad daylight.
The actor was assaulted in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday (May 8), becoming the latest victim in a series of unprovoked attacks in New York City.
“Bucemi was assaulted in midtown Manhattan, becoming the latest victim of random acts of violence in the city,” a spokesperson said in a statement. CNN. “He’s okay and we appreciate everyone’s well wishes, but it’s hard for anyone to believe that something like this could happen while he was walking down the street in New York.” That’s so sad.”
According to an NYPD report, police were called to the scene around noon last week.
“Upon arrival, officers were advised that a 66-year-old man had been punched in the face by an unknown person,” the report states, according to CNN. “EMS responded and the victim was transported to New York City Health Hospital/Bellevue in stable condition where he was treated for bruising, swelling, and bleeding in his left eye.”
The alleged attacker has not yet been arrested and an investigation is currently underway. He is described as a “dark-skinned male wearing a dark baseball cap, blue T-shirt, black pants, white sneakers, and carrying a bookbag.”

Frankel’s claims were made in the comments of a now-deleted TikTok video in which the poster said she was hit by a man while walking home in New York City.
